Elyceum

At Elyceum we are looking to bring in a new world order (yes, a WWE reference) – starting in the world of college admissions – in which every student has equal access to quality college admissions information and support.

Created by a team of underserved, underrepresented students and graduates of Top 20 universities, we are working to expand the reach of college access programs. We want to encourage more students to dream and believe in their audacious goals.

How?

We created compelling narratives that made it clear in our applications our ability to succeed, despite financial and other obstacles thrown in our way. As a result, despite coming from families with a median annual income of $30K, we entered top schools, such as Harvard, UPenn, USC, Rice, and Dartmouth – nearly free of cost.

Now is the time to take what we have learned to empower others in need. Channeling the support we received from kindness and generosity of teachers, mentors, and counselors, we look to pass on our knowledge through creating a peer to peer, virtual platform of sharing. Here students and graduates can meet and support one another, sharing college admissions advice and providing one another support in college list creation/exploration, essay editing, and applications reviews.

To build this field of dreams, we are seeking the following types of high school and college students for an unpaid internship:

Business Development (especially those interested in NGOs)
Marketing
Fundraising
Research
Graphic Design
Web Development (preference for those with WordPress and html experience)

Responsibilities vary by role, but may include:

Performing marketing research re: audience and partnerships
Supporting the build and implementation of fundraising campaigns
Creation and organization of resources meant to serve our audience of students and users
Research in regards to college admissions
Liaising with college access, university, and high school organizations
Maintaining prompt correspondence with team mates as we embark on an audacious, but important development within the realms of education, diversity, and inclusion
Organizing logistics for upcoming meetings and events

Benefits

Learn about college admissions and business/website/fundraising development by serving as a founding member of an important college access resource
Free access to college admissions resources and services available on site

Diversity and equal opportunity are at the core of Elyceum and our mission. People who identify as members of historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
